TASTER SESSIONS : CHRISTMAS TREE HANGERS
Dates : Saturday 18th and 25th November 2.00pm
Make 3 cute little Christmas Tree hangers in these taster sessions. Spend your time designing and making it your very own unique decorations ...there will be pieces of glass already cut, beads, stringers and frit to use...or you can enjoy the experience of learning how to make a simple cut yourself.
The hangers will be 10cmx4cm (light enough to hang on your tree) and will need to be kiln fused for around 22 hours and be ready for collection a few days later (or can be posted for a small extra cost).
£20 pp Suitable for ALL - adults or children over 6 years (children must have adult supervision)

Jellyfish Panel
NEXT DATE: TBC
Create a stunning and unique 'jellyfish' panel in this workshop. You will be given the template to cut out your jellyfish (after being given a bit of tuition in how to safely cut and break glass) in your own chosen colour scheme and then add iridescent clear glass to it to make it shimmer. Then take a look at the 'vitreographic stringers' (all made in the Glass Shack studio) and choose which you'd like to make your jellyfish tentacles - add those, along with pebbles and frit to finish off your design. Panel size is 30x15cm.
Cost is £45 per person (for an additional charge of £10 we can supply a piece of wood with mount to show off your masterpiece).
ROW OF BEACH HUTS

Using a basic template and clear base glass, build your little row of three beach-huts in your choice of colour and design - go for traditional blues or go all out for colour with bright reds, oranges and yellows.
Decorate the huts with flowers, stars, stripes....whatever takes your fancy!
Then, leave them to be fired in the kiln at a temp of around 745c and collect a couple of days later.
Price £30 per person including all materials and tuition. Session will be around 90 minutes depending on group size and progress. Your huts will be ready to mount or can be mounted onto wood for you for a small charge.

Super Cool Seagulls

Love 'em or loathe 'em, you've got to admit that these little Chaps (or chapesses) are super cute. With their smart waistcoats (ok, they're wings), trilby and porkpies hats and sunglasses, they're super cool seagulls....and they won't nick your chips - too well behaved to do that! Big flappy feet can be bent how you choose and they can be put on a hook instead of a stick if you want to hang them somewhere. 15cm tall, plus legs/feet, and they'll cost you £35pp to make one in this session. Workshop will last around 90 minutes to 2 hours.
SAILBOAT

Using the template provided design your own sailboat and build it in your very own chosen colour scheme. Leave it to be fired in the kiln for around 22 hours at a temperature of about 745c, then it will be ready for you to collect. If you would like it mounted onto a piece of wood then this can be done for a small additional charge.

SUNCATCHER - BRING SOME COLOUR INTO YOUR DAY!

Bring some colour into your life with a beautiful sun catcher, handmade by you.
Measuring approx 25cm x 5cm you will take a base piece of clear glass then cut the coloured glass of your choice to make your very own unique sun catcher.
Choose a rainbow style or colour match to your room of choice using different tones and hues of the same/similar colour groups. Also makes a beautiful gift for someone. Needs to be fired at 745c and will be ready for collection a few days after the workshop.
Price £30 per person including all materials. Session will last 90 minutes to 2 hours depending on size of group and progress.

Using glass pieces recycled from previous workshops...frit, pebbles and vetreographic stringers...create your own glass design and have it framed for you when fired and complete.
Based on a piece of glass 21 x 21cm, play around to your heart's content before it goes into the kiln to fuse together....abstract, seaside inspired, glorious countryside, animals, birds...just whatever takes your fancy!
Price £50 pp to include all materials, tuition and frame.
Mini Beach hut row

A different take on Beach huts...these little cuties stand just 5 cm tall and you can make a row of 7 of them, totalling 28cm in length.
Lots more little beach huts to decorate in your own designs and with you chosen colours of glass.
Leave to fire in the kiln and they will be ready for you to mount onto wood (or for a small charge can be mounted onto wood for you)

Gnome Pot Stake

Create a cute Gnome Pot Stake in whatever colour or design you choose. He/she will bring a splash of colour into your home and brighten up any pot plant container. Don't forget...A Gnome isn't just for Christmas!
Cut your shape from sheet glass, then decorate to your chosen design and leave to fire in the kiln for around 22 hours. Session lasts approx 90 minutes.

Looe Fishing Boat

The iconic little Cornish fishing boat which goes in and out of Looe Harbour daily on its mission to bring home fresh, locally caught fish.
Come to The Glass Shack and make your very own little glass boat in whatever colour you choose.
You will be shown how to safely cut your glass into shape, using template given to you in the session, You can then add any decorative bits you fancy - name the boat, give it some fenders ... whatever you fancy.
Then leave it to be fired for around 22 hours at a temperature of 745c .. it will be ready for collection a day or so later.
Workshop will last around 90 mins to 2 huts depending on progress.
Cost is £30 per person including all materials and tuition. For an extra £5, your little boat can be mounted onto a piece of wood for you.
HEART SUNCATCHER ... 'EVERYONE NEEDS A LITTLE SUNSHINE IN THEIR HEART'

Come and make a beautiful heart shaped suncatcher. Choose your own colour scheme then, using the heart shaped piece of clear glass, build your coloured strips on top, fill the gaps with frit, then top with more clear glass strips. Then leave it to be fired at about 760c and it will be ready to collect a few days later.
Workshop will last 90 mins to 2 hours depending on group size and progress. Price £35 per person including all materials. Message to book your place.
FREAKY FISH

Make this funky, freaky fish with its bendy body in any colour way you choose.
You will be shown how to cut sheet glass to make your fish shape, then using the template cut your chosen colours and decorate how you choose. You will then place it in the kiln with the wire attachments to keep the body pieces together and it will be fired for around 22 hours at a temperature of 745c.
If you prefer your Freaky Fish to hang rather than stand, you can attach a hook instead of the metal post.
The workshop will last around 90 mins depending on progress and costs £30 per person including all materials and tuition...for a small extra charge, your fish can be mounted onto a piece of wood for you.
Frit Seahorse panel

Make your own stunning Seahorse panel using frit, pebbles and stringers to create this wonderful little creature in your very own colour way....it doesn't have to be in subtle blues and greens like this one - go way out and choose reds and yellows or a full rainbow scheme, or maybe a bit more mellow with mauves ...as long as the colour glass is available it's entirely up to you !! The class may also include a demonstration to make vitreograph stringers if these are needed for the pieces.
Panel size is 30 x 15cm and the workshop cost is £45 per person (for an additional charge of £10 we can supply wood plus a mount to show off your masterpiece perfectly). Session will last approx 2 hours, depending on progress.

Stand-up Mini Panels (2)

Come along to our workshop in Downderry and make two stand-up mini suncatcher panels...perfect to put in the window or to place in front of a votive candle.
In the session you will be able to make one 'S' and one 'U' shaped panel and choose which one you'd like as a colour 'bar' and which as a pattern of your own design (as per picture above...take a look at the FB posting for more ideas).
Each of the panels are 16x7cm, first they are fired flat and then popped back in the kiln to be shaped. They will be ready for collection about a week after the workshop.
This workshop costs £45 per person and there is space for a maximum of 5 people on each session...be sure to book early to avoid disappointment.
'FRIT HAPPENS'

Come along and make your very own picture using recycled glass pieces - all the items you use to create your picture will have been recycled from 'waste' glass from my workshop.
Based on a 21x21cm square, you will be able to create your very own design using frit (crushed glass), stringers and pebbles.
Then down to putting your own design onto glass before it is left to fire in the kiln, (about 24 hours) and will be framed for you in a deep box frame ready for collection.
Limited space available (max 4 persons on this workshop) £50 per person including all materials and frame.
Jellyfish wind chime

Make your very own jellyfish windchime - choose the colour of the body and tentacles, cut your glass using the template given and then finish with an iridescent clear glass to give a fabulous shimmer! First time glass workshop? ... no worries, you will be guided through cutting the glass and how to put your piece together.
Then, leave your creation to fire in the kiln overnight, and come and collect your fused glass and put your wind chime together.

MINI BEACH-HUTS AND WAVE PANEL

A new take on Beach Huts...these mini ones will stand up in a little curve - perfect for a seaside themed bathroom and then there's the mini 'wave' suncatcher as well - the perfect addition. Both these pieces are first made flat and then go into the kiln a second time to shape them into a 'U' or an 'S'. They are both 15cm long and stand 6/7 cm high.
The cost for this workshop is £45 per person including all tuition and materials. Workshop will last around 2 hours depending on progress.

'ABSTRACT BUNTING' WORKSHOP

Make your own garland of 'abstract' glass bunting...you will use a clear base piece of glass and add your own pattern designs using glass shapes, frit (crushed glass) and an assortment of beads to create your own design and choice of colours.
Each bunting flag is 7cm x 9cm and you can make up to 7 pieces, depending on your progress during the session.
Cost is £30 (5 pieces) £35 (6) or £40 (7) per person including all materials.
