Like what you see and interested in learning more about the art of fusing glass?
Try one of our workshops
just bring your imagination and see where it takes you!
Various workshop options are available and are suitable for individuals or groups.
Come to a Glass Shack workshop and you will learn how to cut glass, what shapes can (and can't) be easily made; how to build glass pieces and much more. Have an idea of what you'd like, make it, fire it in the kiln and either collect it or have it shipped to your home (charge will apply for P&P). Please be aware that some items require more than one firing so can take up to 5 days before they are ready.
Custom Workshops 1/2 day or full day sessions
Suitable for between 2 and 6 attendees, you will be able to make your own glass piece*. Cost is £50 per person inclusive of tuition and all materials. approx 2 1/2 to 3 hours.
Suitable for 2 to 6 persons, you will be able to make 2 glass pieces of your own design* Cost is £95 per person including tuition, light lunch and all materials. approx 5 to 6 hours.
One to One Workshops
If you would like to learn a bit more about the techniques and styles used in glass fusing then why not book yourself onto a one-to-one session. Make something a little different in one of these workshops, something a little more challenging or larger than in a regular session or just spend some time playing around with different techniques.
Half day priced at £75 ; Full day £135 inclusive of all materials (and a light lunch on a full day).
Regrettably, these workshops are generally not suitable for under 12 year's old. However, bespoke 'Family Workshops', where youngsters can experience glass fusion without having to break glass, can be arranged, or look out for an 'under 10s' workshop, which are usually run in the school holidays. Please contact Caroline for further details.
Workshops are perfect for Birthday parties, Hen parties, family get togethers, team building, rainy holiday days......yes, sometimes it does rain in 'sunny' Cornwall!
* typical piece(s) would be : small square dish OR 'S' curve OR tealight shade OR wallhanger/suncatcher. OR votive candle holder. Larger or alternative pieces can be made, dependent on group size, but will be subject to a surcharge - we can discuss your requirement prior to the workshop. It is also an option to do something outside of the standard realms of glass fusion, including kiln carving and glass enamelling.
Group Workshops approx. 90 mins to 2 hours
A mini version of a custom workshop, where you and everyone else in the group will make the same thing, with your own personal twist, following the instructions of your tutor, Caroline. Group sessions are held regularly and are advertised on Facebook - LIKE our page to keep in touch! Cost is from £30 per person.
If you have a group of friends, or are part of a local organisation who love their crafting, then you could book a group workshop especially for you....decide what you'd all like to do and come along and make it. Price from £30 per person.
